In honor of Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor, his accomplishments and always representing Queens, N.Y., fans have created a petition to have a street named after his group A Tribe Called Quest. A Tribe Called Quest Boulevard would be the name of a portion of Linden Boulevard between 192nd Street and 193rd Street in the New York City borough.

The Change.org petition was created by LeRoy McCarthy and members of HHDG, the Hip-Hop Discussion Group. The petition has a goal of 5,000 signatures, and once the goal is met, it’ll be brought to a Queens City Council member for support.

According to TMZ, the street naming has already received the approval of Taylor’s family and Queens Councilman Daneek Miller, who said he’s behind the naming because “A Tribe Called Quest is fundamentally important to the history of Queens.”

I have no doubt that with a little over 4,700 signatures, it’ll reach the 5,000 goal by Tuesday afternoon.
