Nicki Minaj is not happy with the Super Bowl Halftime Show pick. On Sunday, it was announced that Kendrick Lamar would headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. While much of the internet celebrated this fact, especially after the whirlwind year Lamar has had during his epic feud with Drake, it seems the “Super Bass” rapper is not pleased with this and is seemingly calling out Jay-Z in the process.
Jay-Z co-produces the NFL Halftime Show, as Billboard pointed out, and it seems Minaj has taken offense to the fact that her friend Lil Wayne was left out of the conversation for performer, specifically since the show will take place in Wayne’s hometown. “Go & enjoy your fkng money b4 it’s too late … One n—a took a knee The other n—a took the bag,” she wrote in the beginning of a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter). “He gon get you ‘n—-s’ in line every fkng time.”
He continued with what many believed was a diatribe against Jay-Z. “Got everything in the world...Still spiteful & evil. Disgusting. Be happy Abeg. Go be fkng happy n!gg@!!!!!!!! In rap business. In women business. When you got the Politicians & the police you good tho. Plus dat ugly laughy taffy alien … LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
She went on to post even more, seemingly inferring that Jay-Z’s hatred for hers, Drake, and Birdman is what led to Lil Wayne being overlooked for the performance. “Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. S–t sad. House N—-R TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty ? Welp. then n—-z will keep son’ing you!!!!!”
Birdman also entered the chat, writing in a post, “These niggaz Pussi @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB. I’m make these niggaz respek us on Gladys.”
Of course, reactions are pouring out online, with many confused and entertained by Minaj’s sudden outburst about the halftime show pick. One user wrote about the sequence of events that led to this dramatic moment, all starting with Kendrick’s verse that kicked off his major feud and path to the halftime show. Calling out Minaj’s specific intense callout, they wrote, “I never would’ve thought Kendrick’s Like That verse would lead to Nicki calling Jay-Z a house n*gger within a calendar year”
Other users assume that Minaj’s issue with Jay is far deeper than just the Lil Wayne of it all and that her real beef is with both Jay and Beyoncé’s avid support of Megan Thee Stallion over the years. A user wrote, “and let’s be clear the only problem nicki has with the carters is that they continuously support megan.”
