Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been haunting Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s nightmares since she began prosecuting her case against him for his alleged role in attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. But now, it seems Willis’ daughter is facing some legal trouble of her own.
Kinaya Willis, 25, was pulled over in Tyrone, Ga. on August 24 when police noticed her using her cell phone while driving. When approached, Willis told police she was using her phone because her mother was “calling her related to her pregnancy,” according to a police report of the incident obtained by The Daily Mail.
The report states that the traffic stop revealed that Kinaya, who is a student at Texas Southern University, had her license revoked on May 13, 2024 after she was caught driving on a suspended license. When asked, Willis said she was unaware of the suspension.
According to the officer’s report, police placed Willis in handcuffs, conducted a brief search of her car and took her to Fayette County Jail for booking. Her mother arrived on the scene shortly after to take her daughter’s car.
The punishment for driving on a suspended license in the state of Georgia is a minimum of two days in jail, a minimum fine of $500 and a six-month extension of the suspension. If she’s found guilty of driving after he license was revoked, she could be looking at up to 10 days in jail and a fine of between $1,000 and $2,500. Willis has so far declined requests to comment on the incident.
Trump supporters have wasted no time in jumping on the arrest as another opportunity to take a swipe at Willis.
“Fani Willis’ pregnant daughter Kinaya Willis arrested in Tyrone, Georgia for driving with a suspended license. How much you want bet nothing happens?” wrote one person on X.
I guess we could say the same thing about Trump.
