Fox Sports is reporting that Phoenix Suns player Grant Hill had to be restrained by security guards after a Chicago fan cursed and spit at him.
The altercation occurred while Hill was leaving the floor after a tough 97-94 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. "He said some profanity and spit in my direction," Hill told the newspaper. "I'm not going to let somebody spit at me. He knew he did wrong because he took off running."
Hill was restrained by bodyguards who later caught the fan.
That's pretty weak and disgusting — spitting on anyone. In some states, spitting on someone is considered an assault and is punishable by law. Don't let the Duke degree and squeaky-clean reputation fool you. When spat at, it's on — even for a class act like Grant Hill.
