Fabolous (real name John David Jackson) allegedly assaulted his girlfriend of over a decade, and former star of VH1’s reality-television show Love & Hip-Hop, Emily B (real name Emily Bustamante) in their Englewood, N.J., home. According to TMZ, Emily B contacted the police after the alleged abuse, and around 8:30 that night, Fab turned himself in. He was then arrested, booked on felony charges of aggravated assault and making a terroristic threat, according to the report.

After the altercation became public, Billboard reached out to Fabolous’ longtime attorney, Alberto Ebanks, for a statement. He provided the following: “I’ve known Fab close to 20 years and believe he is incapable of engaging in the alleged conduct.”

Bustamante and Fabolous have two children together: 10-year-old Johan Jackson and 2-year-old Jonas Jackson.

The Root has reached out to representatives for Fabolous and will update this story if we hear back.
