The nation's unemployed are on pins and needles waiting to find out if the House will approve the extension of jobless benefits. The bill, which had been filibustered by Republicans in the Senate, finally cleared that hurdle earlier this week. All eyes are on the House of Representatives to see if it will approve the measure to extend unemployment payments to millions of people whose benefits have lapsed. Hopefully they will help those who need it most. But then again, hope springs eternal.
