Donald Trump’s election to a second presidential term has many Black Americans terrified that he will waste no time making good on much of the racist, xenophobic agenda laid out in Project 2025, a conservative plan for the country developed by conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation.

Without question, the document — which includes plans to dismantle the Department of Education, cut Medicaid funding and eliminate student loan relief programs — would have a significant impact on Black people from coast to coast if implemented in its entirety. But Black folks aren’t the type to sit back and wait to see what might happen, so they’ve gotten in formation with a plan of their own – and they’re calling it Black Project 2025.

The idea was first floated on TikTok by content creator @mediabuyingbestie. In a post, she suggests Black people get to work on an agenda in which some of the most talented Black professionals bring their talents to the table and formulate a plan to open Black-owned banks, grocery stores and other businesses in our communities.

In her post, she adds that rather than support big corporations that don’t have our best interests at heart, we should keep a master directory of Black-owned businesses that make everything from coffee to clothing to personal care items that we promise to spend our hard-earned cash on instead.

“Everything we use and consume on a daily basis, it is no longer purchased from these large corporations. It is purchased from one another,” she suggests.

“Maybe there is a silver lining in Kamala not being able to get into office because as a community we just become that much more tight-knit,” she added.

Creator @equlibrium.essence is trying to help get the word out.

“The way im promoting this group you would think its my job! BLACK PROJECT 2025 is a go !!! LETS GOOOOOOO,” she captioned a post highlighting the benefits of the community.

“They got judges in there, attorneys, we got lawyers, we got doctors, people who like to roller skate, whatever you think your talent is,” she said. “You may think you can’t contribute to the group, but literally, you can.”

TikToker @clayreels agrees that Black people should work together on a solution and is all in for destroying capitalism as we know it to benefit the Black community.

“I have my critiques, but no plan is a bad plan within reason,” he said in a post. “I feel like we can work out the kinks if we work together and actually listen to each other.”

He also encourages viewers to pitch in to ensure Black women aren’t fighting the good fight alone.

“They should not be the only ones doing the work,” he said. “And also there should not be a lapse of appreciation for the ones that are still doing the work. Please don’t let this algorithm on TikTok get you confused, the majority of the people out there have not given up.”

There has already been an overwhelming sense of support on the app from users who are ready to be the change they want to see in this country.

“This is the dream 🥺 The New Black Wallstreet!!!! 🙌” wrote one user on TikTok.

Interest in Black Project 2025 movement is spreading. Just four days after the creator posted her original video, there is currently a waitlist to join the group as they look for a platform that can handle the overwhelming community response. The group is also looking to fill positions with Black cyber security specialists, app developers and network and systems engineers as they build out their platform.

Let’s just hope we can keep the momentum going. Otherwise, it’s going to be a long four years.
