2024 has been the year of hate in hip-hop. There’s been so many diss tracks released this year that’s hard to keep track. But the ones that have stood out the most are the ones from Drake and Kendrick Lamar during their infamous beef (that could still be going on).

Recently, their feud went to a level hip-hop has never seen before, with Drake taking legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) in two separate petitions.

In one, he claimed the music giant conspired with Spotify to inflate the streams of Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” In the other, he accused UMG of defamation for allowing the release of the diss track, which falsely accuses the Toronto rapper of being a “certified pedophile” and sex offender.”

With that in mind, we look back at the year in diss tracks.

Megan Thee Stallion – “Hiss”

Surprisingly, Megan Thee Stallion was the first MC to step into the diss track world in 2024. On this track, Tina Snow held nothing back, taking shots at Nicki Minaj and Drake on her energetic single.

Nicki Minaj – “Big Foot”

Just two days after Megan released, “Hiss,” Nicki Minaj properly responded with her track, “Big Foot,” which makes fun of the Houston rapper getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez and the unfortunate passing of her mother. While the track is disrespectful, the overall quality makes it among the worst diss tracks released in 2024 year.

Future & Metro Boomin – “We Don’t Trust You”

This track gets forgotten about, but the intro and title track to Future and Metro Boomin’s “WE DON’T TRUST YOU,” is a full-on Drake diss track. Where he claims that the Toronto rapper is his “Number One fan.”

Future & Metro Boomin – “Like That” (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

The song that started the hip-hop “Civil War.” Future and Metro Boomin gave Kendrick Lamar the space to get a few thoughts off his chest, including how he thinks Drake and J. Cole aren’t in the “Big 3″ and it’s just him.

J. Cole – “7 Minute Drill”

The first MC to respond to K-Dot’s explosive verse on “Like That” was J. Cole. The track was hidden on his most recent project, “Might Delete Later.” Although fans respected Cole for coming back, the track had mixed reviews, which may have played a part in him apologizing to Kendric days later and taking the song off of streaming services.

Quavo – “TENDER”

In the beef between Quavo and Chris Brown, the Atlanta rapper set it off with this track, where he raps about the R&B singer’s history of domestic violence and his break up with Karreuche Tran.

Chris Brown – Weakest Link

Brown wasted no time responding to “Tender,” coming back less than a week later with “Weakest Link.” He specifically says that “everybody” wished that Quavo died instead of his uncle and fellow Migos member, Takeoff. He also mentioned how Quavo was seen on video fighting with his ex-girlfriend, Saweetie, in an elevator.

Quavo – Over H**S & Bitches

Quavo fired back at Brown again on this track, where he called Brown “crackhead Michael Jackson” and continued to bring up his track record of domestic violence.

Drake – “Push Ups”

Kendrick’s main target, Drake, was the first to release a proper diss track. The Toronto rapper makes fun of Dot’s shoe size and claims that he’s being extorted by his label and management. He also takes shots at a bevy of other artists including Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and Future.

Rick Ross – “Champagne Moments”

Rick Ross responded to Drake’s “Push Ups” in record time. Literally hours after the track was leaked, Ross hopped in the booth and created “Champagne Moments,” where he calls Drizzy “white boy” and says that he had surgery on his nose.

Drake – “Taylor Made Freestyle”

In an attempt to get Kendrick to come outside, Drake egged the Compton rapper on in a controversial track where he used AI to mimic the voices of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. The Shakur estate eventually forced the 6 God to take it down from his social media.

Kanye West – “Like That” (Remix)

The response nobody asked for. Kanye West decided to butt in and take part in the “elimination of Drake” by remixing Future and Metro Boomin’s hit song, and create a diss track where he takes shots at Drizzy and J. Cole.

Kendrick Lamar – “Euphoria”

Kendrick Lamar’s first full-on diss track did not disappoint. The Compton MC took six hours to break down Drake’s whole persona and say that he enjoys it when he makes melodies and not when he tries to act tough — among other things

Kendrick Lamar – “6:16 In LA”

Just days after releasing “Euphoria,” Kendrick pulled a “Back to Back” and dropped another Drake diss track by using naming after the Toronto rapper’s beloved timestamp records. K-Dot alludes to there being a mole in Drake’s crew feeding him info.

Drake – “Family Matters”

Drake’s red button. The Boy unloaded on Kendrick in this song claiming that one of his kids is not his and that he abuses his significant other, Whitney Alford. It’s a song that lost some of its steam due to K-Dot dropping his response less than an hour later.

Kendrick Lamar – “meet the grahams”

The gloves are officially off. Kendrick unloads on Drake’s son, mother, father, “daughter, and “The Boy,” himself on how much of a terrible person Aubrey Graham is.

Kendrick Lamar – “Not Like Us”

To add to the Drake hate, Kendrick Lamar created an anthem for everyone around the world to call the Toronto rapper a pedophile and colonizer. He stole Drake’s formula of creating a diss track that is also a hit.

Drake – “The Heart Part 6″

In an attempt to dismiss the pedophile accusations, Drake doubles down on his claims that one of K-Dot’s kids is not his. Drake also says he’s disgusted by the claims, and never looked twice at ‘no teenager’ and that he is way too famous to mess with young girls without being arrested.

The Game – “Freeway’s Revenge”

Getting away from the madness that was the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, The Game wanted to put his name in the ring and decided to create a diss track aimed at Rick Ross.

King Combs – “Pick A Side”

Diddy’s son, King Combs, released the song, “Pick A Side,” a song in which he takes shots at all of his father’s haters — mainly Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has been trolling the Bad Boy Records founder for years.

BIA – “SUE MEEE?”

BIA through her hat in the beef ring after making a diss track aimed at Cardi B. She claims that Offset cheated on her inside the home they lived in together and added that the surgery she’s had on her body is “mid.”

Megan Thee Stallion – “Rattle”

With the release of her latest studio album, “MEGAN,” the Houston MC took more shots at Nicki Minaj. She raps, “Damn, b***h, it been four years/ Worry ’bout your man and your kid/ Your life must be borin’ as fuck if you still reminiscin’ ’bout shit that we did.” Referencing Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
