Eugene Robinson: Even Beck Can't Mar King's Legacy

Glenn Beck is out of line, holding a Restoring Honor march at the same place where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech on the anniversary of said speech. Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson tells it like it is about Beck's absurd event that will take place this weekend. He says that Beck has the right to hold the event, just as "the rest of us have every right to call the event what it is: an exercise in self-aggrandizement on a Napoleonic scale." Beck claims that this event will "reclaim the civil rights movement." The event will highlight what the civil rights movement could not do: remove fear, hatred and the belief of racial and class superiority from the hearts of many Americans.
