Either ESPN anchor Robert Flores is a fan of hip-hop or he’s not a fan of Iggy Azalea, but he took it upon himself during a recent broadcast to dis the Australian rapper.
Last month Azalea let the world know on Twitter that her boyfriend, basketball player Nick Young, is afraid of dolphins. To further prove his fear of dolphins, Young last month told ESPN about his near-death dolphin experience.
“He was playing with everybody else, doing what dolphins do—the ‘ack ack’ and all that,” Young said. “It was my time to ride the dolphin. For some reason, he took me all the way to the bottom. He was trying to drown me. But I saw it happening, so I jumped out of the water and took off the little life vest and threw off my little water shoes and stayed outside.”
Of course that’s the perfect setup for a joke, and Flores nailed it during his “What Did We Learn?” segment.
“Nick, while dolphins are trying to kill you, your girlfriend’s trying to kill hip-hop. Let’s call it even, OK?” Flores stated.
In a flurry of tweets, some of which have since been deleted, the chivalrous Young fired back at Flores.

Here’s the thing that Swaggy P doesn’t understand: His girlfriend isn’t some random chick from Boise, Idaho, with a regular job. She’s probably more famous than he is, and an entertainer, and some people feel she’s a horrible rapper. It seems as though everyone throws on his Superman cape to defend Azalea’s horrible music except for the Grammys and Flores.
