The portrayal of the beef between Marion "Suge" Knight and Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton has people talking about the fallout between the members of N.W.A, Eazy-E's untimely death and the role that Suge Knight allegedly played in the entire situation.
Eazy-E's third son, Yung Eazy, posted a message on Instagram Thursday and said that he's known all along that his dad didn't just die of HIV but was killed.
"His death never added up," Yung Eazy wrote. He said that he and his family are not "idiots blind to the truth." They have believed all along that foul play was involved in their patriarch's death. Yung Eazy said that the movie sheds light on that theory, since Eazy-E didn't get sick until after his fallout with Knight.
Yung Eazy also claims that Suge Knight inadvertently admitted to having a hand in Eazy-E's death during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. A video clip of the interview appears alongside the Instagram message.
"[L]ook how he acknowledged & admits on this interview with #JimmyKimmel," Yung Eazy wrote, recounting how Knight said that "injecting [people] instead of shooting them is a new thing that's done."
Eazy-E is the godfather of the kind of rap that wasn't sugarcoating the violence and excessive policing taking place in working-class communities. He's finally getting his just due as an icon of hip-hop music.
