NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal has never been shy about his love for Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Like much of black America, Shaq finds the sugary-glazed goodness not only addictive but also intoxicating. He often shares his love for the doughnuts on TV and social media. On Monday, Shaq announced that he is now the owner of a historic Atlanta Krispy Kreme store that has been a mainstay in the community for more than 60 years.
"Krispy Kreme prides itself on spreading joy and supporting local communities, and that’s a cause that I am thrilled to be a part of," Shaq said, WSB-TV reports. "Our goal is to help people find their happy place, and what better way than with a box of delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts."
Tony Thompson, president and CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, is proud to have the big man on his team.
"In addition to Shaquille’s status as a sports and entertainment icon and businessman, he is known for spreading joy, which aligns with our positioning and mission," Thompson said. "We are confident this partnership will have a big impact for us in Atlanta and around the world."
