Well, your unnecessary trips to the fast-food chain may soon be over because some wonderful genius has created an app that will tell you whether or not your closest Mickey D’s has an up-and-running machine.

The Ice Check app is currently available for iOS, according to BuzzFeed, and allows users to search for the nearest McDonald’s and then shows them the status of its ice cream machine in real time.

If you happen to be unlucky enough to be met with a broken ice cream machine when you stroll into your local McDonald’s, you can also help out the rest of the populace by clicking on the location and changing the status to “off.”

“I came up with the idea for the app around a year ago, after a late-night Oreo McFlurry craving went unfulfilled due to the ice cream machine being down,” the app’s creator, Raina McLeod, who is all sorts of Black Girl Magic for taking the time to build this, told BuzzFeed.
