There’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep your sneakers clean. I mean, you can’t show up in dirty Js, especially if you’re about to perform in front of a live audience.

But DJ Khaled just took his obsession with his kicks to an entirely different stratosphere. In a Feb. 26 Instagram post, the GRAMMY-winning DJ and producer asked security guards to carry him from his car to a truck that transported him to the stage for a performance at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami – just so his sneakers wouldn’t touch the ground.

“I don’t want to get my Jordans dirty. Can I get everybody to help me?” the “All I Do is Win” artist asked. “Can’t mess up the Js.”

Although the request was beyond ridiculous, Khaled did take time to thank the two men for carrying him before he took the stage. But if you know social media the way we know social media, you already know folks came for him in the comments.

Some of the comments are funny, suggesting that carrying Khaled is not for the weak. “Guards don’t get paid enough for dat 😂.” and “You’d think this man would want to take all the steps he can,” were just a few of the hilarious responses to the video.

But most of the feedback was serious, calling out Khaled — the son of Palestinian immigrants — for being tone deaf, worrying about keeping his sneakers clean when there are more important issues, like the killing of nearly 30,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

This commenter said it best: “Ppl getting killed in his country & he worried about his Jordan’s getting dirty.”

One thing’s for sure...you already know the memes about this one are going to be crazy.
