DJ Envy just revealed an unpopular take on the Diddy news. The Breakfast Club host and radio personality appeared on an episode of The Casey Crew podcast, where he gave his opinion on all that has gone down since the arrest of the disgraced rapper.

His wife and The Casey Crew host Gia Casey brought up the Diddy of it all during the episode, saying that she is holding on passing judgment until she hears a lot more about the case. Envy then spoke to some of the headlines coming out of Diddy’s case, including the now-infamous thousand bottles of lube and baby oil.

Referring to the rapper as a” freaky n***a,” he explained, “There’s nothing wrong with being a freaky person, so the fact that he has a thousand bottles of baby oil and lube just means he likes to get shit popping, and there’s nothing illegal about that.”

Envy then said that while he knows everyone is gonna “crack a joke,” he doesn’t like that people “convict him” before all of the evidence has been presented. He explained, “I didn’t like the fact that they didn’t give him a bond. He was gonna put up $50 million ... his house, his mom’s house, he was giving up his passports.”

He said his biggest gripe about all that has happened to Diddy is that the mogul has family, adding that he already has three kids without a mom and “two twins that are 17-years-old that don’t have their dad right now and probably won’t have their dad for the next two years until the trial is over.” From Envy’s perspective, Diddy deserved to get bond and “fight this outside,” adding that Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and O.J. all got bonds.

“In this society, it feels like you’re guilty and you have to prove yourself to be innocent, but it should be the other way,” he added. “I do think it’s sad that somebody with such a great legacy is destroyed because of the things that he did.” Envy did make it clear that if Diddy did do what he has been accused of, he should “absolutely, positively” go to jail “for a long time.”

As The Root previously reported, Diddy was arrested by federal authorities in September, and is now facing three charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.
