This past year has not been kind to DJ Akademiks and due to his own actions, his reputation on the internet just got much worse. First, he hitched his wagon to Drake druing his beef with Kendrick Lamar. Then he was accused of rape, sexual assault, and defamation by a woman he allegedly used to date. Now, he’s being accussed of grooming a teenage boy due to comments he made while on a live stream.
Late last week, while on a live stream with a NourGxd, a 15-year-old who moderates PlaqueBoyMax’s Discord, he asked the young teenager multiple sexually explicit questions, even though he was clearly uncomfortable.

These clips went viral across social media and led to many notable internet personalities commenting and criticizing Akademiks.
Over the weekend, the noise got so loud for the 35-year-old streamer that he had no choice but to address and apologize for his inappropriate behavior and comments.
During a live stream, he said, “I’ve done a lot of bulls**t up in this game. Trust me. I’ve got mine off. This issue aside – which, again. I am wrong. I will be better. This is a teachable moment. For me, obviously, I got to watch my speech. That’s clear…”
He continued, “ Definitely a regrettable moment, and we’re going to use it as a teachable moment. Because I don’t think I’ve came this far, built this platform, to be that irresponsible, right?”
Meek Mill is among the people who also criticized Akademiks, writing on X, “If your a parent go get ya kids phone and block this man he’s grooming children with a very large platform that “kids” like… also attempts to ruin black families and black success daily ‘VILLAN IN THE VILLAGE’.”
This latest incident just makes Akademiks a more controversial figure than he already is and will only make people question why anyone is listening to anything he has to say about music or any other topic.
