Diddy Gives $1,000,000 to Howard University

Sean "Diddy" Combs gave a $1 million check to Howard University's president, Wayne A.I. Frederick, during his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, according to the Washington Post.

The concert was held at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., on Thursday night.

Combs, who attended Howard and received an honorary doctorate from the university, expressed his gratitude to the school.

"I was blessed to receive a great education from Howard University—one of the best schools in the world—and it helped to fuel my success in business and life,” he said in a statement. "This scholarship will make it possible for the next generation of leaders to pursue their dreams and achieve greatness."

According to the Post, the scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate business majors (starting next fall) with a GPA of 3.0 and financial need. Students who are given the scholarship will also receive a mentor from Combs Enterprises as well as a summer internship at Bad Boy Entertainment or Revolt Media & TV.

"The University is grateful for Mr. Combs’ ongoing efforts to open doors for talented, hard-working individuals and improve their chances of navigating the way to personal and professional fulfillment," Frederick said in a statement.
