The proliferation of AI continues to cause some serious confusion across the internet — this time, Justin Bieber and Sean “Diddy” Combs are caught up in the madness. A “Justin Bieber song” recently went viral on TikTok and Twitter/X following Diddy’s Sept. 16 arrest, featuring lyrics about Bieber’s experience with the fallen mogul.

Except...the whole thing is fake. The seemingly AI-created track features a voice eerily similar voice to Bieber’s, leaving many to believe he planned on releasing this track referencing his experience with the infamous rapper and producer.

“Lost myself at a Diddy party, didn’t know that’s how it go,” the AI-generated lyrics read. “I was in it for a new Ferrari, but it cost me way more than my soul, wasn’t worth all the fortune and fame.”

One post on X that has received thousands of likes urged users to listen to the lyrics: “it’s sad what Diddy has done to that boy.” Many accounts began calling out the post, however, writing that it is “clearly AI.”

As The Root previously reported, Diddy has been in the headlines all week after his arrest in New York City last Monday. The rapper is facing three charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution, and is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Bieber and Diddy maintained a close relationship throughout the years, one that is being reexamined by fans online in light of Diddy’s arrest and the uncovering of his federal charges as well as his sexual assault cases.

While the AI-generated song signaled to some that perhaps Bieber would be speaking out about the Diddy situation, a recent report in PEOPLE Magazine suggests otherwise.

A source close to Bieber recently told the outlet that the “Sorry” singer is “aware of Diddy’s arrest and all the allegations,” but it is not anything he wants to “focus on” at the moment. “He just wants to focus on being a great dad and husband,” the statement reads.
