If you were Blue Ivy Carter and you knew your dad Jay-Z was currently embroiled in some legal drama, would you want him showing up to one of your biggest career moments and possibly hindering your shine?

That was the question on everyone’s minds on Monday going into the premiere of “Mufasa: The Lion King,” which took place in Los Angeles. As previously reported by The Root, the “4:44" rapper is in a legal kerfuffle after being recently accused of raping a minor alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in a new lawsuit filed just one day before his daughter’s premiere.

While the rapper has since responded (in a manner that’s garnered mixed reactions from folks online), the allegations are still fresh on people’s minds and caused many to wonder whether or not he’d show up to support his daughter on her big day.

Well, we all got our answer when he strolled out in a brown suit alongside wife Beyonce and mother-in-law Tina Knowles to pose for photos with Blue Ivy. However, based off certain videos and photos (even the header photo we have) Blue Ivy doesn’t seem all the way comfortable with either one of her parents being there.

As the images began circulating online, folks on X/Twitter spoke out about it:

“Jay-Z being on the hot seat for raping a 13 year old girl then also stepping out with Blue Ivy, at 12, in that dress? Ye ok man, money doesn’t buy a sense of optics,” said another.

“I cant even imagine wtf blue ivy’s going through jfc like that girl being the same age as her?? idk why jay z would even go to the premiere and ruin blue’s moment but whatevah,” another said.
