A new set of allegations has cropped up against singer and accused sexual abuser R. Kelly, this time from Detroit.
According to CBS Chicago (h/t Page Six), detectives in the Motor City are investigating a new allegation that the self-proclaimed “Pied Piper of R&B” sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl at a hotel in Detroit in 2001.
Kelly’s accuser, who is now 30 years old, said she had multiple sexual encounters with Kelly over the next four years, in Detroit and at his home in Atlanta. During the course of that time, Kelly also infected her with herpes, she says.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig told CBS Chicago that detectives “are eagerly waiting to speak to the alleged victim,” who no longer lives in Michigan but will be flown in for an interview.
Chicago police arrested Kelly in late February on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. After posting bond—and employing a full arsenal of histrionics in a truly wild sit-down interview with CBS reporter Gayle King—Kelly landed back in jail on Wednesday for failing to pay $161,663 in back child support.
And because this story needed just one more twist (note: it really did not), Page Six is also reporting Kelly is seeking help from Bill Cosby’s publicist (anybody want to tell him how that worked out for Bill?).
