Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is being sued by a woman who claims the NBA All-Star drugged and gang-raped her with a few of his friends a few years ago.
In the court documents, obtained by TMZ Sports, the woman—who is referred to as Jane Doe—alleges that she dated Rose from 2011 and 2013. During that time, she claims, he tried to pressure her to masturbate in front of and have sex with his friends.
One night, Doe claims, Rose and his friends slipped a drug into her drink while she was at Rose's house, with the intent of raping her, but she was able to leave. She wasn't so lucky later on that night, the lawsuit alleges, when Rose and two of his friends—one of them allegedly his manager—came to Doe's house and allegedly gang-raped Doe while she was under the influence of the drug they'd allegedly slipped into her drink earlier that night.
Doe said that she waited to say something about the sexual assault because she was "ashamed and embarrassed about the incident."
Rose, through a representative, released a statement Thursday maintaining that the allegations are "completely false and without any factual basis."
While Rose and the plaintiff were sleeping with each other during those years (they were in a "nonexclusive" relationship, the statement said), any sex between him and her was completely consensual, according to the statement. Rose also alleges that the plaintiff has been trying to get money from him (allegedly millions) and that two lawyers have already passed on her case, which shows, Rose's statement suggests, that her allegations are baseless.
