The woman who filed a lawsuit in August accusing Derrick Rose of drugging and, along with two of his friends, raping her is suing the NBA athlete for $21.5 million, NBC Chicago reports.
The 29-year-old woman claims that the sexual assault took place in August 2013. She says that the Chicago Bulls star and his friends slipped something into her drink at a house in Beverly Hills, Calif. Later that night, at her apartment, she says, Rose and his friends raped her. Rose maintains that he and the woman had been having sex on and off for a few years but it was consensual and they were not in an exclusive relationship.
The woman is suing for "$6 million in compensatory damages and $15.5 million in punitive damages," NBC Chicago explains. She also wants about $3,500 in attorney fees.
In September, Rose was asked about the case and said, "I will be proven innocent."
