Delonte West: I'm Banned From the White House

The 2011 champion Dallas Mavericks will soon head to the White House for a meeting with Barack Obama. All of them, that is, except guard Delonte West, who said on Saturday that he was "banned" (his words) from the presidential residence, presumably because of a high-profile arrest two years ago.

West told the For Worth Telegram, "I'm banned from going to the White House, so I'm not going to make it."

The moral of the story, in his words: "That's what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You don't get to go to the White House." (Many political critics would probably disagree with that one.)

Yet the talented athlete's ego evidently remained intact. He suggested that the real person missing out as a result of the "ban" would be Obama. "I live in D.C," he said. "It's going to be a shame the president isn't going to get a chance to meet me. I'm the president of my house.''
