Of course Dave Chappelle would manage to get a cackle out of the crowd referencing the seemingly horrifying “freak off” sex parties prosecutors claim were held by rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. Before you start guessing, no Chappelle wasn’t there. However, he had a lot to say upon his absence.

Chappelle’s latest appearance on Saturday Night Live featured a stand-up segment including jokes about everything from the Los Angeles fires to none other than Mr. Combs. The comedian started off saying he never saw anything like Combs’ case.

“They got this guy in a RICO case… by himself!” Chappelle said.

The rapper is facing federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and engaging in interstate transportation for prostitution.

The allegations against Combs include sexual abuse, physical abuse, bribery and various drug offenses. The most notable claims stem from his so-called “freak off” sex parties, where prosecutors allege women and men were drugged and forced to perform sexual acts at Combs’ pleasure. He was also accused of using video footage to blackmail the victims into compliance.

To the point of these alleged controversial sex parties, Chappelle said a few of his friends asked if he knew anything about them or had been to one. “Nah, man,” Chappelle said he’d reply.

However, he made a hilarious comment about seemingly knowing people who were allegedly at the freak offs while not being present himself.

“And I thought about it for a minute and I said, ‘Oh my God... I’m ugly. Boy, that’s a tough way to find out,” he said. “Can you imagine if you were me reading a newspaper and found out everyone in Hollywood had an orgy behind your back? Like none of y’all called me.”

Chappelle went on to say he was ultimately glad he never got invited to participate in the alleged sex parties because of the crazy stories that came of it - one of them being about an unsuspecting actor.

“Some guy who said he knew Puffy was like, ‘Yeah, man. I was at the freak off one time and I went into the back room and Puff was in there with Carl Winslow, the dad from ‘Family Matters,’” Chappelle said.

“Yeah, it feels good to make another man do your bidding,” Combs said, according to Chappelle’s joke.

The comedian then went on to say it was probably beneficial that he didn’t get invited because by studying his face you can tell he has “snitch energy.” He also made a baby oil joke of course, referencing the thousands of bottles of body oil federal agents say they discovered upon raiding Combs’ home.

“But if you’re 55 and you got a thousand bottles of baby oil in the house, clearly you ‘can’t stop, won’t stop.’ You’re committed to the lifestyle,” Chappelle said. “He just used the wrong lube. I think if he used Crisco, he would have gotten away with it.”

Though many jokes have been cracked about the case, Combs faces some serious penalties if a federal jury finds him guilty. As of now, Combs has pleaded not guilty, and was denied bail three times. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
