Peanut Labs in San Francisco is seeking a UI engineer to join its development team.

The position will share the responsibility of designing, developing, improving and maintaining a portfolio of innovative products. The ideal candidate will have a solid development background with interests in user-interface engineering and user-experience design for Web 3.0 applications across Internet, SaaS, desktop and mobile environments. This is a hybrid role that combines acumen with technical-interface development and UX-design sensibilities.

Specific duties will include working with QA in fixing bugs, maintaining the product and ensuring testable software; participating in all phases of the agile software-development cycle; leveraging technical expertise to influence best practices within the development team; and contributing to the optimization of platform infrastructure to ensure speed, reliability and scalability. The IU engineer will also collaborate with a variety of functional teams in designing the best-possible UX for customers and compose usability and style guides, functional specifications and other related documentation.

To qualify for this job, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical studies and three to five years' experience in software development and interaction design. He or she should be an expert in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, AJAX, CSS2/XHTML and Adobe Creative Suite; should be able to produce functional designs that simplify and solve usability problems; and should have a portfolio of work demonstrating real-world experience relevant to this position.
