Its Seattle office is currently seeking a government-relations director. The position entails planning and implementing comprehensive programs for the conservancy's Washington branch to further its mission.
Responsibilities include developing and advancing government programs; advocating and lobbying for federal-priority policies and public funding for programs and projects; and researching, analyzing and preparing recommendations on state and federal public-policy issues. Other duties involve building and maintaining relationships with key federal-agency officials, supporting the Washington board of trustees and participating in ballot-initiative campaigns for conservation funding.
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in political science, public policy or government relations and at least five years of related work experience. All applicants must have supervisory experience and be knowledgeable about federal lobbying laws and regulations.
