The Academy for Urban School Leadership in Chicago is seeking individuals to participate in its teacher residency program. The program combines teacher preparation, certification and a master's degree in an intensive 12-month period.
The AUSL Teacher Residency provides individuals with a full school year of teacher training, giving them the opportunity to work four days a week in a classroom under the guidance of an experienced teacher-mentor, a master's degree and Illinois teaching certification from National Louis University and financial support for the training year. ASUL also provides post-program job-placement opportunities in both elementary and high schools throughout Chicago.
All applicants must have a bachelor's degree by June 2012; prior experience in education is not required. ASUL's mission is to improve the academic achievement in Chicago's high-poverty schools. If you're looking for a position that will transform the lives of children, this job may be for you.
