Its San Francisco office is currently seeking a full-time apparel index manager. The position involves overseeing the strategic, operational and technical aspects of designing and developing sustainable apparel and footwear.
Responsibilities for the position include implementing apparel and footwear indices across both environmental and social dimensions, leading index evolution toward long-term goals of consumer-facing ratings, and supporting the effort to ensure widespread adoption of apparel and footwear across brands, retailers and suppliers in the global apparel value chain.
Other duties involve developing and managing strategic relationships with key NGOs, government agencies and academic institutions to support the development of apparel and footwear, and to work closely with supplier training associates to develop and implement supporting tools and materials.
All applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least three years of experience in a management role and a solid understanding of strategic environmental and social issues within corporate value chains. The ideal candidate must have the ability to lead a team and manage multifaceted projects.
