A former staffer of Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll claimed this week that she saw Carroll in a "sexually compromising" position with a female employee, according to the Miami New Times. Carroll reportedly laughed off the claims, poked fun at the accuser's relationship status and claimed "black women that look like me don't engage in relationships like that."
Whether or not the allegations are true, that has to be one of the worst defenses we've ever heard. But if we're making sweeping generalizations, our response to Carroll's "Black women that look like me don't engage in relationships like that" is: People who are smart and/or simply aware of the world around them in 2012 don't say things like that.
