Crazy Talk: "Monday" replaces n-word? Earlier this month, Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford said he'd been called a racial epithet by an off-duty police officer before a minor league game in New Hampshire. The officer was fired yesterday. But guess what the racial slur was: "Monday." That's right. According to an explainer in the Boston Globe, it's the latest in a long list of "covert racial slurs" used by people who don't want to get caught saying the real thing.

Funeral held for Usher's stepson: Family and friends gathered privately in Atlanta on Friday, July 27, to lay to rest young Kile Glover, Usher Raymond's 11-year old stepson, who died from injuries suffered in a Jet Ski accident earlier this month.
