For nearly as long as Diddy has been in the limelight as the mogul behind Bad Boy Entertainment, Kim Porter was by his side. As one of Black entertainment’s “It” couples of the 1990s, they appeared to have it all and more in photos and videos together.
But behind the scenes, some internet commentators have not been convinced that all was what it seemed between Porter and Diddy. After a video emerged of Diddy assaulting Cassie, his longtime girlfriend and muse, speculation went into overdrive as social media commentators began to wonder if Diddy ever assaulted his other rumored girlfriends.
Now, The SOURCE magazine reports that excerpts from a memoir allegedly written by Porter, the mother of four of Diddy’s children, have people speculating anew about the nature of their relationship. For the record, the memoir is unverified and there’s no evidence that Diddy had anything to do with her death — Associated Press reported that Porter in 2028 died of cardiac arrest at 47 — but that hasn’t halted rumors from swirling all over social media.
In one alleged excerpt, the “memoir writer” claims someone referred to as “Sean” went berserk over some flowers:
“We were supposed to go out for dinner, but he was in a foul mood,” the memoir reads. “Sean yelled, ‘What the f—!’ I would have to walk on eggshells as I came out of the bathroom, but I found him holding flowers, so I smiled, ‘You brought me flowers!’ Sean yelled, ‘No! So who the f— are they from?’ I was bewildered, and told him honestly, ‘I don’t know. Probably just a fan.’
“He threw the attached card at me. I picked it up to read it. ‘Sean i…’ He slapped me so hard I hit the ground. Sean yelled, ‘Who the f— were you with the other night?’ I looked down at the card that was lying next to me, and it read, ‘The other night was amazing, we must do it again.’”
Again, the validity of this alleged memoir by Porter has not been confirmed—though that hasn’t stopped conspiracy theorists from running wild with more rumors about Diddy. But then there are other social media commentators who are convinced (even if the memoir excerpts are bogus) that the behavior of the “Sean” character isn’t so farfetched. After all, there was that report that Diddy allegedly once beat a record exec for spending time with Porter.
“Sooooooo are they going to start investigating the death of Kim Porter NOW?” wrote one X social media commentator on July 29 when the alleged memoir excerpts began circulating.
Another social media commentator wrote on X, “I can only imagine what Kim Porter dealt with beyond closed doors.”
Self-proclaimed “King of Pop Culture” Kempire even did a story alleging that details about Diddy and Porter’s relationship were all predicted to come to light.
“Psychic, Sloan Bella has been at the forefront of these Kim Porter predictions! Manuscript details physical abuse (allegedly) … #diddy #kimporter #seancombs #sloanbella #kempire #kempiredaily #kempireafterdark,” Kempire posted on X.
Singer turned conspiracy theorist Jaguar Wright has only added fuel to the rumors surrounding Porter and Diddy’s relationship. As Diddy’s legal troubles ramped up, Wright alleged that there was a tell-all book by Porter that “terrified” Diddy. In fact, Wright has also alleged and claimed in videos that foul play was involved in Porter’s death.
And while some have written Wright off as an unhinged internet personality, others don’t seem so sure as details about Diddy’s alleged dealings behind the scenes come to light.
“To think that everyone laughed at her and came down on her and said she was crazy and jealous because she didn’t succeed as she wanted! This woman has been telling the truth for years!!!,” one social media commentator wrote under a video of Wright being interviewed about Diddy.
Another added under the video, “When she said ‘Young Miami run as fast as Cassie did!’ It really hit different after Cassie filed her lawsuit!! Wow!”
Addressing the video showing Diddy assault Cassie, even Porter’s father said the video gave him a “different outlook” on the Bad Boy mogul and made him “wonder” if he ever treated his daughter that way.
“I didn’t know he could stoop that low,” he told Rolling Stone. “I imagine it surprised a lot of people. I wouldn’t even do a dog like that. My heart goes out to Cassie.”
All of this to say that the only people who truly knew what was going on between Diddy and Porter are Diddy and Porter.
But the public does know at least a few things for sure: Porter was a model and actress beloved by many in Diddy’s social circle. And Porter made Diddy a “better man,” according to the Bad Boy mogul himself.
