Columbus Short's name isn't going to be free of controversy anytime soon, with his wife claiming that the scandal-ridden actor broke into their house over Easter weekend and left it in disarray, TMZ reports.

Tanee McCall-Short (also known as Tuere in the U.S.) claims in new court documents that Columbus Short entered the house—despite a restraining order barring him from the residence—and left doors off hinges and bed sheets thrown about.

Just earlier this month, McCall-Short filed the restraining order against (and petition for divorce from) the actor after he allegedly pulled a knife on her and threatened to kill both her and himself.

McCall-Short has received some flak, most markedly from comedian and actor D.L. Hughley, who accused the woman of not being completely truthful on a recent radio show.

"The star of one of the hottest dramas in the country, chokes the f—k out of his wife? That doesn't ever happen. I don't think it happened, first off. Like the time Warren Sapp was getting ready to do the Super Bowl and some broad said that he raped her. There are just as many examples of women lying on men in the middle of divorce proceedings to get what they want as there are men who actually do anything," Hughley said.

"My point is, if he did what she's alleging he did, she could still get all that she's going to have and not bring it up now, when it damages his market value that she's going to be impacted by it," he continued. "If he loses that job, nobody's living in Calabasas anymore."

Hughley's comments sparked a Change.org petition demanding that he apologize.
