Cissy Houston says she’s given it to God when it comes to the condition of her granddaughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. In an interview with New York’s WBLS radio, Houston said that although she’s prayed for Brown, 22, there’s “not a great deal of hope” for recovery.
In her interview, Houston confirmed reports that Brown was moved to a rehabilitation facility and said that even though recovery seems unlikely, the family is still praying and is asking others to pray as well.
“I don’t pray like that. I give it to God one time, because I know he’s able, and I cannot change a thing,” Houston explained. “So I’m asking everyone to pray to the Lord, who we know can do something about it.”
Brown has been in a medically induced coma since January after being found unconscious in a bathtub by her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, and a friend. Since then, Gordon has been under investigation regarding the drowning and has not been allowed to see Brown. Two weeks ago, during an intervention by Dr. Phil, Gordon entered rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.
Houston, throughout the WBLS interview, reiterated her faith in God but also said she knows there could be another outcome. “If he works a miracle, thank God,” she said. “If it happens the other way, I’m all right.”
