Ciara finally is coming back with new music, after years of leaving us stranded.
I can’t believe that Ciara hasn’t had new music since 2015, with the release of her album Jackie, which we didn’t ask for. But now, as an attempt to revive her career, before she gets lost in our memories, she just released the Level Up music video on Youtube.
The song was clearly about leveling up from her ex, Future. Some of the lyrics in the upbeat song were about upgrading and thanking God she never settled.
I just keep elevating, no losses, just upgrading
My lessons, made blessings, I turned that into money
Thank God I never settled, this view is so much better
I’m chilling, I’m winning, like on another level
She gave us a subtle warning on the ‘gram and Twitter before she released the video, with “#LevelUp 7.18.18 Get Ready To Dance” as the caption.
Speaking of captions, she posted a video on Twitter back in January about many women wanting to be married but walking in the spirit of “girlfriend” with #LevelUp as the caption. She received a lot of backlash for that tweet and cleared it up with an Instagram post about being at her “lowest moment” during that time and “thats when I realized married or not married... I needed to love myself,” she ended that post with #LevelUp.
