Last year Brown and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy were arrested after hitting a fan outside the W Hotel in Washington, D.C.

According to the Associated Press, Brown was sentenced to time served, which included the two days he spent in a D.C. jail. Brown’s lawyer, Danny Onorato, said his client had been punished enough.

“To say that he’s been punished severely in this matter is an understatement,” Onorato said.

Brown spoke briefly and stated, “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry.”

Brown was released from jail in June after serving four months for violating his probation from his 2009 assault case involving Rihanna.
