It seems Chris Brown can't escape the past. The singer, who is trying to get his career back on track after suffering a public image flogging for assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna, has been denied entry to the U.K., where he was scheduled to perform three concerts. According to reports, Brown was refused a visa for "being guilty of a serious criminal offense."
Could it be a wrap for Brown? Since the now-infamous assault, he has been blacklisted from urban and pop radio stations and witnessed dismal CD sales. In an attempt to appeal to fans—and vent his frustration about his disastrous fallout—the musician has spent a lot of time on Twitter apologizing to supporters and blasting retailers and the media.
Brown had been scheduled to perform in London, Manchester, Birmingham and the Scottish city of Glasgow but the British government's Home Office said he had been refused a visa because of his past criminal record.
Last year Brown was sentenced to five years' probation and six months of community service for the beating of his then-girlfriend, R&B singing sensation Rihanna.
The Home Office said Brown applied for his visa last week and should have been notified of its refusal Monday.
