A former New York City cop was sentenced Wednesday to 28 years in prison for his addiction to watching mothers molest their children over Skype and in person.
Alberto Randazzo convinced at least five women to send him pictures and allow him to watch them molest children, the New York Daily News reports. The former police sergeant used dating sites like Ashley Madison to find mothers to help him satisfy his disturbing perversion, and even traveled out of state to watch two children abused in person. He was eventually caught when his girlfriend found his disturbing text messages and reported him to the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau.
According to QNS.com, the 40-year-old former officer pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and one count of receipt of child pornography. In addition to the 28-year sentence, he was given eight years of supervised release and sex offender registration for sexual exploitation and receipt of child pornography.
Randazzo, who had faced up to 80 years for his crimes, according to the New York Post, cried and begged the judge to give him the minimum 15-year sentence. His lawyer, Anthony DiFiore, tried to argue that some of the children were so young that they likely wouldn’t remember being molested, before the prosecutor reminded the court that Randazzo drugged one of the victims, who is now 13 and suicidal.
“One of the victims has been in state homes and mental institutions since this happened. And the others will certainly remember visiting their mothers during the pendency of their sentencing,” said prosecutor Tyler Smith, the Post reports. “This is a person who literally created child abusers and solicited [the mothers] over and over and over again until he found women who would do it. To our knowledge, he found at least five.”
