Prior to her confrontation with Nicki Minaj at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party, Cardi B had recorded a song with the “Chun-Li” rapper’s ex, Meek Mill.
Whether that song contains any shots thrown at Minaj remains a mystery, but TMZ reported Thursday that Cardi had recorded new music of her own that did include a Nicki diss or two, and the outlet said that Cardi and her people were locked in a private battle over the cuts.
According to TMZ, sources said that Cardi’s team felt the diss tracks should not be released because the lyrics would benefit Nicki by putting her in the spotlight. Since Cardi’s team already believes she has pulled way ahead of Nicki in the game, they think the best way to diss her is to just ignore her.
Cardi, who has not seen Nicki face-to-face since that infamous night, reportedly feels like releasing the diss tracks is a way to keep it real, because she always includes her real life drama in her music.
That is the way TMZ tells the story at least. Cardi B, on the other hand, had some words for TMZ before dispelling the rumor of the alleged diss track.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, Cardi shared a screenshot of a TMZ reporter speaking someone on her team about the alleged diss. The reporter says that TMZ is going to be running a story about it. Cardi’s team member informs them that there is no diss record coming and their information is wrong. The TMZ person then says they will “let the other reporter know.”
In her caption, Cardi first rebuked TMZ for sending reporters to “stalk” her and baby Kulture for pictures even though the rapper and her husband Offset have made it clear that they are not ready for pictures of their daughter to be shown in public.
“Dear TMZ ...You see you really pressed my button a couple weeks ago when ya had photographers literally stalk me and my daughter when I clearly said repeteadly [sic] I don’t want to show my daughter. With fame comes crazy people, stalkers, and phychopaths [sic] so I want to protect my child ‘till I’m ready to show her to the world but NO integrity don’t matter to ya,” the Bronx rapper wrote in the caption.
She then addressed the rumored diss track.
“Then ya constantly got me in ya blog spreading fake shit about me without doing ya research and even when we tell ya is not true ya still push it. Ya motherfuckers need to get off my dick and start reporting about them actresses ya used to report about cause I’m not one to fuck with THANK YOU!! Btw in REAL news my single ‘Money’ drops November 26!!”
Welp. I guess that settles that.
In other Cardi news, she made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday and got real about what it’s like to give birth and be a new mom.
Cardi made her television debut on the same show almost exactly a year ago, according to Kimmel. She told the late night host that having a baby is the best thing to happen to her.
“It’s the best. It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, should’ve had you when I was a teenager.’ That’s what I was missing my whole life? I love you,’” she said.
She told Kimmel that the actual experience of childbirth was hard.
“She broke my vagina,” Cardi said.
“Why does nobody tell you about those things? Nobody told me they were gonna stitch my vagina,” she said. “People just be like, ‘Oh, when you give birth, it’s gonna hurt.’ But nobody tells you,” she added.
She told Kimmel that she would eventually liked to have three or four children in total.
Cardi said that baby Kulture is “feisty” something she said husband Offset warned her about while she was pregnant.
“My husband used to tell me, ‘Stop screaming and stop catching that attitude when you pregnant because you gonna pass that to the baby.’ It’s like, I did,” she said.
She said that fame prevents her from doing normal things with her baby like “going for a stroll” or “going to the beach.”
“I don’t want to show my baby out to the public right now. I want to protect her. I’m not mentally ready. It’s like paparazzi be everywhere,” she said. “I would like to do normal things with my baby, but for right now I have to keep it very low key.
Cardi continues to keep it real on her own Instagram account as well. In a post on Thursday afternoon, she discussed the correlation between the hair on a woman’s upper lip and the quality of her vagina.
Let me just say once again that I stan.
