Democrats Take Over the Queen City

Politicos, party officials, celebrities and more converged on Charlotte, N.C., from Sept. 4 to Sept. 6 for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. From rousing speeches by Michelle Obama, Deval Patrick and more, to the president's official acceptance of the Democratic nomination, this year's DNC was packed with memorable moments. The Root's D.C. insider, Nicole Venable, was there to snap scenes from this year's convention.

Legendary Crew

The Roots performed at the StartUp RockOn benefit held Monday evening during the convention. The event was produced by three startups: Event Farm, Hyper Vocal and Fighter Interactive. StartUp RockOn is a unique showcase that honors, celebrates and promotes entrepreneurship.
