We’re calling on the men of the Atlanta metropolitan area to join The Root for an empowering evening of brotherhood, dialogue and learning. After a successful event in New York City, The Root’s annual manCODE series moves south to Atlanta with a dynamic men-only conversation on June 17.
For those who are unfamiliar with manCODE, sponsored by Prudential, it’s an opportunity to increase focus on and understanding of the African-American male experience in America, with particular focus on entrepreneurship, social justice and legacy. manCODE is a multigenerational conversation that looks at how far men have come and how far they have to go.
With only men in the room, it’s a chance for black men to talk openly with one another about how to strive to embrace the diversity within our collective and to be better leaders and builders of our community, leaving a legacy of accomplishment and pride. The evening promises to be lively, thought-provoking and memorable.
The Atlanta event will be moderated by popular TV anchor DeMarco Morgan from WXIA. Guest panelists include the Rev. Raphael Warnock of Ebenezer Baptist Church; Tirrell Whittley, CEO of Liquid Soul Media; Courtney English, chairman of the Atlanta Board of Education; James Andrews, founder of True Story Agency; and Prudential Vice President Dele Oladapo.
Click here to reserve your spot. Ladies, if there’s a friend, lover, spouse, brother or neighbor in your life, give him the gift of manCODE. It’s free!
Future manCODE events in 2015 will be held in Dallas Aug. 22 and in Washington, D.C., Sept. 17.
