EURweb is reporting that Idris Elba will join Sean Harris and Kate Dickie in the cast of Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic Prometheus, according to the director himself via the Daily Mail. Scott also confirmed the previously announced casting of Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender and revealed that the actors, who have all signed secrecy clauses, were only allowed to read the script at Ridley's production office. The Oscar-nominated director — who directed Blade Runner, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster and Robin Hood — will begin shooting the film in Toronto in three weeks. Asked about the plot, Scott says, "It's the story of creation, the gods and the man who stood against them. It's not a small film."
First Thor and now Prometheus. It's official: Hollywood filmmakers are on board with black people existing in the future. From the hood and beyond, Idris Elba, aka Stringer Bell, is taking his swagger to outer space. Hopefully, audiences can handle it.
