When you have a blended family, holiday plans can get complicated. In order to accommodate everyone’s schedules, everything has to be worked out well in advance. If you’re Nick Cannon, who has 12 kids with six women, complicated is an understatement. One of those women recently revealed details about how she navigates the unusual situation, and honestly, it’s easier than we expected.
On Tuesday, while attending the DirecTV XMAS at Kathy’s event at reality TV personality Kathy Hilton’s house in Bel Air, Bre Tiesi, mother to Cannon’s 17-month-old son Legendary Love, shared how she manages holiday plans with the actor/comedian’s other children.
“That’s his problem. Not me,” she said. “I set up what I want him at. I just tell him my plans and he makes it. It’s pretty simple.”
Well that answers one question. Now The Masked Singer host just has to answer the other five. Obviously, he can’t be at six homes at the same time, but the Wild ‘N Out star plans to make the season as memorable as possible for his kids. On the Soul Train Awards red carpet on Saturday, he told Entertainment Tonight, “Saint Nick will be in every chimney I could possibly be in.”
“It’s all about the kids so, you’ll definitely see us doing some fun, over-the-top stuff in the next 30 days,” he said.
He may have to pull some strings to spend time with his two oldest kids, as his 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe are currently on tour with their mother, Mariah Carey. They’ve each joined their superstar mom on stage during her Merry Christmas One and All! tour.
Moroccan recently made his rap debut during Mariah’s shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Alongside Carey and Jermaine Dupri, he dropped a few short bars on “Here Comes Santa Claus.” Meanwhile, Monroe and her mom performed a beautiful duet of “Jesus Born on This Day.”
Everyone has opinions on how Nick Cannon spends his time with his children and how he treats their mothers. Ultimately, it’s up to them to decide how they navigate this unorthodox blended family. However, I truly hope that he’s able to give the kids all the support and attention they need during the holidays. Material gifts are great, but when they get older, it’s the time they’ll remember, not the presents.
