The Washington Post is reporting that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall's estranged wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, has been arrested again. Nogami-Marshall was arrested back in March for stabbing the wide receiver in the abdomen. She was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for that incident.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a 911 hang-up at the couple’s home Friday morning. Despite a protection order requiring her to stay at least 500 feet from the home, 27-year-old Nogami-Marshall told deputies that she had been living there while Marshall was out of town. When Marshall returned, an argument occurred, followed by the 911 call. Nogami-Marshall was taken into custody and charged with violating her pretrial release.
Can you say "toxic relationship"? If the police have to be involved every time you come in contact with your spouse, then you do not need to be together. Stabbing someone with a kitchen knife and now living in the home while he is away means that Nogami-Marshall isn't wrapped too tight at best, and is dangerous at worst.
We hope that authorities treat Nogami-Marshall as they would a man committing the same crime against a woman. If the shoe were on the other foot, especially with a professional athlete, it would be a different ball game.
