Martha Stewart is one of the rare celebrities who went to prison and came out even more popular. She started hanging out with Snoop Dogg, which opened her up to a whole new fanbase that allowed her to reinvent herself. To celebrate her interesting journey, Netflix released its new documentary “Martha.”

As the 83-year-old lifestyle mogul has never been one to hold her tongue when she feels misunderstood, she made it clear that she’s not a fan of director RJ Cutler’s final version of the doc. Stewart is particularly offended by the film’s last moments, telling The New York Times they portray her as “a lonely old lady walking hunched over in the garden.”

Now, the internet can’t stop talking about her honesty in the film and her reaction to it.

One viewer acknowledged their emotional similarities to the mogul, writing on X, “Not me relating to Martha Stewart sharing the same avoidant attachment toxic trait.”

Stewart wanted Cutler to cut the scenes — or at least explain that she’d recently had surgery for a ruptured Achilles. Her most interesting criticism involves the project’s “lousy” music choices. Stewart wanted rap, which makes perfect sense considering her public connection to Snoop. Unfortunately for the culinary icon, Cutler went with “some lousy classical score…which has nothing to do with me,” she told the Times.

In response to a clip about her lack of interest in her romantic partner’s feelings, one person noted the double standard in her stance on infidelity, tweeting, “Lol. Martha indignant of her husband cheating on her, but when addressed regarding her cheating twice first, “oh yeah yeah but that didn’t mean anything.”

Someone on TikTok also found the moment quite funny, but appreciated the honesty, commenting, “‘I don’t care’ sent me — it was so genuine.”

Many fans wanted more content, with one TikTok commenter writing, “We need multiple episodes. it should have been a mini-series. Love it!!!”

Another user found her marital memory lapse hilarious, writing, “I love that she totally forgot that she cheated on her husband first.

The funniest reaction came from a viewer on TikTok who noted that “Martha Stewart is a SAVAGE” as they played a clip of her talking about a New York Post reporter she clearly did not like.

It wasn’t all bad news, however...as Stewart said she did “love the first half of the documentary.”

“It gets into things that many people don’t know anything about, which is what I like about it,” she said. “That’s what I wanted the documentary to be. It shouldn’t be me boasting about inner strength and any of that crap. It should be about showing that you can get through life and still be yourself.”
