Scottie Pippen is the latest victim of social media’s wrath after posting a tone-deaf, unserious tweet about the controversial owner of X, Elon Musk.
Over the weekend, the NBA Hall of Famer posted an AI photo of Musk in a Chicago Bulls jersey, along with the question, “How many championships would we have won with @ElonMusk?”
While it may seem like an otherwise harmless tweet about a contentious figure, the post set social media off to post most ruthless things they could think of about the six-time NBA champion, including some harsh comments about his messy relationship with his ex-wife, Larsa Pippen.
One user wrote, “No wonder Future did you like that,” which is about the rumor that the Atlanta rapper had sex with Larsa while she was married to Scottie.
Another person posted, “what the f**k is this. this is why your wife cheats on you with your son’s co-workers,” which is about Larsa dating one of Scottie’s son’s teammates while he was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The tweets only got worse from there, as some continued to clown Pippen over what Future allegedly did to Larsa, while others made foul jokes about him.
Despite the harsh comments, Pippen (or the person running his account) seemed to find many of them humorous, later posting, “Y’all are funny. I’m following my favorite comments.” It also led to Pippen doubling down on his Musk “support,” posting another AI image of him and Michael Jordan standing across from a pair of Tesla robots, with the caption, “Who would win in a 7 game series?”
This resulted in more disrespectful tweets about the Chicago Bulls legend, with one person writing, “Athletes gotta stop selling their social media accounts.”
One person simply stated, “Take unc phone.”
It’s unclear exactly what Pippen’s intentions are with these posts, but it seems that many on social media believe that he recently got into crypto and is posting AI photos of Musk in hopes of getting higher engagement.
Whatever the reason, someone should remind Pippen that it isn’t going over well.
