(The Root) — A little bit of postelection laughter, a little bit of ethereal music-speak and a little bit of weird techno love-crooning. Again, the late-night shows have it.

Conan (Wednesday, 11 p.m. ET; TBS)

"No, no. I'm glad Obama won. What I'm annoyed about is all morning, white people have been coming up to me, congratulating me as if I did something." —Deon Cole

Highlight: In this taped skit on Conan, comedian Deon Cole, one of the show's writers, has had it with some of his white co-workers. He would like them to stop congratulating him on President Obama's re-election. It started with a couple high-fives and some celebratory emails, but you know, that can get out of hand quickly. Run from the high-fiving zombies, Deon, run!

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (Wednesday, 11:35 p.m. ET; NBC)

"So what did you do? Like, cover songs?"” —Jimmy Fallon

"Songs that I don't want to discuss so people will find them." —Pharrell Williams

Highlight: Little-known fact: Pharrell Williams was discovered by producer Teddy Riley at a high school talent show. He's always been a Neptune, but Diddy inspired him to found his rock band N.E.R.D (No One Ever Really Dies). He also likes to hang out with Jay-Z and Frank Ocean in his spare time, and he has a book coming out: Pharrell: Places and Spaces I've Been. In it he visits the mental "spaces" of all the famous people he's met. Kinda cool. Plus, he gives his opinion on the election.

Late Show With David Letterman (Wednesday, 11:35 p.m. ET, CBS)

Highlight: Ne-Yo, dressed from head to toe in maroon, sang and pop and locked with his entire six-member dance crew in a performance of "Let Me Love You" on Letterman. How many times did he spin on his heels? Too many to count. What girl wouldn't swoon at that?
