As the disturbing details of Sean “Diddy” Combs federal indictment—including shocking mentions of sexual “freak offs”—continue to send shockwaves on social media, a handful of folks in Black Hollywood are giving their two cents on the matter.
Naturally, as the news began to circulate online, Black Twitter had plenty of thoughts and commentary on the matter. But it’s the comments of Black celebs in the music industry and Hollywood at-large, that are starting to take centerstage and either inspire jokes or serious overall messages about what this latest iteration in Diddy’s downfall means and what should be taken from it. There are, however, also folks who are coming to Diddy’s defense like rapper Boosie who took to X/Twitter on Wednesday to argue that the Bad Boy mogul shouldn’t be jailed.

On Wednesday morning’s episode of “The Breakfast Club,” DJ Envy argued that Diddy should make bail and stay out of jail pending his forthcoming federal and cited the fact that previous perps like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and O.J. Simpson all received the opportunity to post bail.
When it comes to jokes, rapper 50 Cent (who’s been seemingly been waiting for the Bad Boy mogul to end his reign) is at the front of the line using a particular detail about the Diddy’s alleged “freak offs” to throw jabs.
“Here I am keeping good company with @DrewBarrymoreTV and I don’t have 1,000 bottles of lube at the house,” he wrote on X/Twitter on Tuesday, referencing the over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and personal lubricants for the “freak offs” that the indictment revealed were allegedly found during the raid of Diddy’s Los Angeles and Miami homes back in March.
Keeping that same energy was fellow musician Johntá Austin, who echoed similar sentiments, writing on X/Twitter: “The great baby oil shortage in LA has now been solved.”
On Tuesday morning’s broadcast of “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne Tha God teetered the line between seriousness and silliness, saying:
“He had racketeering and sex trafficking. If he gets racketeering and sex trafficking for ‘freak offs,’ it will be others involved. Like if you ever ran a train with Diddy, you’re probably going to jail...If you ever been butt naked anywhere with Diddy or half butt naked with Diddy and there was some women around or some men around that he told you were part of the party party, you’re probably going to jail.”
In a post to her official Instagram story and X/Twitter account, Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day—who’s been vocal about her negative experience working with Diddy for years—wrote a more earnest post:
“The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter. Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing.”
In a followup tweet early Tuesday morning, she added: “I chose to speak to people who could move justice in the way I needed to see it. I’ve been speaking. Never underestimated that.”
Journalist and host Jemele Hill also chimed in with a timely and relevant message to remember the victims in this entire ordeal.
“I know everybody is going to get these jokes off about Diddy, and by extension R Kelly, but think of the numerous Black women whose lives were ruined by these horrendous people. The narrative is not, another Black man got taken down — cause this ain’t got shit to do with Black men as a whole. The narrative is, thank God these women are finally getting the justice they deserve,” she wrote on X/Twitter.
As more folks in the music industry and Hollywood at-large begin to speak out, we’ll be sure to keep you abreast.
