It’s been quite a month for the multifaceted Rihanna; on Sept. 12, she shut down New York Fashion Week with a Savage x Fenty show so hot it sent Fenty Beauty muse Slick Woods into labor. Two days later, she dazzled her celebrity friends with her fourth annual Diamond Ball, benefitting her Clara Lionel Foundation.
Then came the cover of Allure’s Best of Beauty issue, which declared the 1-year-old Fenty Beauty and its founder part of “beauty history” for the 2017 40-shade launch of its award-winning Pro Filt’r Foundation.
And after starting September with new diamond-themed shades of her Universal Gloss Bomb and Killawatt highlighter, Fenty Beauty then gave us “Stunna Week,” in which the beauty mogul debuted not one, but four new shades of her indelible Stunna Lip Paint, adding Unveil, Uncuffed, Unbutton and the matte black Uninvited alongside her already bestselling “universal red” shade, Uncensored.
Tired yet? We would be—but then, we’re not Rihanna, who has been on an anniversary tour for Fenty Beauty this past month, making stops at Sephora and Harvey Nichols stores around the world to celebrate the brand that changed the beauty industry.
After blazing through Dubai and Singapore, Rih’s latest stop? Sydney, Australia, where she gave us a mono-print throwback moment in strapless, snakeskin Versace—including a matching coat, box clutch, stilettos and a bucket hat. In a year that has brought us head-to-toe logos aplenty, the look may not have been a complete surprise, but leave it to Rihanna to make a retro statement look brand new—and subversively charming, to boot. Rih matched the look with a silvery lip that looked suspiciously like a dusting of her Diamond Ball-Out highlighter over Gloss Bomb, if you’re trying to recreate the look for yourself. Or might there be a new shade of Starlit Hyper-Glitz Lipstick on the horizon?
Could be, because speaking of new shades, Fenty Beauty’s next new drop will be a brand new holiday-themed, seven shade Killawatt Foil palette called Chillowt, due to go live on Oct. 12. If the palette is any indication, Rihanna’s vision for winter is both shimmery and super-saturated—and, as always, wearable on every skin tone.
So, with all this new beauty, are there new bops on the horizon, as well? We’re keeping ourselves limber in preparation for Rih’s rumored upcoming dancehall album, but the bad gal has made it clear that she won’t be rushed. After all, a good slow wind takes time.
