Morgan Freeman must have done a brilliant job as Nelson Mandela in the 2009 film Invictus—maybe a little too brilliant.
That's because the makers of a billboard in India actually believed the actor to be the former South African president and mistakenly used a photo of Freeman, the New York Daily News reports.
Below Freeman's smiling face in the image are pictures of Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa and Mahatma Gandhi—all of whom are correctly identified.
The board also reads: "We should be proud that we were part of an era when they lived," the Daily News reports.
The Southern city of Coimbatore is where the billboard appeared, and its commissioner is vowing to immediately have it fixed.
The cloth merchant who commissioned the billboard to honor the South African hero and claims to have paid for it says he never saw the work before it went up.
"We will replace it with the correct picture of Mandela," he told AFP, the Daily News reports.
