When Beyoncé and Blue Ivy hit the white carpet during Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, everything came to a screeching halt. Everyone clamored to get a photo of both, but once they made their way to the photographer's area, it was clear Blue Ivy wasn't the only one in Beyoncé's squad.
The "Formation" singer was surrounded not only by the various singers and models who appeared in her "Lemonade" video but also by the Mothers of the Movement, women who have lost their children to gun violence.
The mothers of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant—Gwen Carr, Lezley McSpadden, Sybrina Fulton and Wanda Johnson, respectively—stood beside Beyoncé at the Madison Square Garden venue in New York City. Carr, McSpadden and Fulton previously appeared in "Lemonade" and during the video held up photos commemorating their sons.
As the night went on, Beyoncé, of course, had people in awe as she performed songs from the album Lemonade, which included the "controversial" song "Formation," which won Video of the Year.
